Softball Recap: Okawville Takes a Loss

If Okawville was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Valmeyer last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Okawville fell 10-7 to the Marissa/Coulterville Meteors on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 9-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Kenley Hackstadt and Jilien Harre stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hackstadt went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Harre went 2-for-4 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycie Buss, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Okawville's record is now 1-3. As for Marissa/Coulterville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Okawville will challenge Dupo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marissa/Coulterville, they will take on Gibault Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
