Volleyball Recap: Willow Glen Comes Up Short

Willow Glen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lincoln Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Willow Glen started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 16-25, 25-12, 25-16, 15-9.

Willow Glen's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Lincoln, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Willow Glen is set to square off against their familiar foe Gilroy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lincoln will take on rival Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
