Softball Recap: Haltom Wins Going Away Against Bowie

Haltom's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Bowie Volunteers 16-5. The victory continues a trend for the Buffalos in their matchups with the Volunteers: they've now won four in a row.

Haltom got a massive performance out of Kylie Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-high in RBI (two). Brianna Navarrete was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Haltom's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Bowie, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haltom will venture away from home to take on South Grand Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Buffalos surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bowie, they will head out on the road to challenge Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Volunteers are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
