Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Baker Mountaineers vs. Lynden Lions

Mt. Baker hasn't had much luck against Lynden recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mountaineers will head out to square off against the Lions at 9:30 a.m. Mt. Baker has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mt. Baker is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Bellingham, falling 14-1.

Meanwhile, Lynden entered their tilt with Squalicum on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Storm a 16-0 shutout. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Lynden's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
