Volleyball Recap: Smithton Comes Up Short

Smithton lost against Northwest back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

Aubree Huddleston paced Smithton's offense, picking up three kills. Huddleston got some help from Drew Bray and her four assists. Huddleston was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Sofi Amaya, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last three matches.

Smithton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Northwest, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5-2 record this season.

Smithton has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Sacred Heart on the 11th. As for Northwest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Stover on the 9th.
