Basketball Recap: Kinkaid Takes a Loss

Kinkaid has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-63 heartbreaker at the hands of the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes.

Duncanville was led to victory by Samari Holmen and Jasmine Gipson. Holmen went 5 for 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, while Gipson went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points. Holmen has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierston Russell, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Kinkaid's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Duncanville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Kinkaid wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-38 victory against Bishop Lynch on the 3rd. As for Duncanville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-31 win against Liberty on the 28th.
