Recap: Randleman Tigers vs. Northwest Guilford Vikings
After a string of three wins, the Randleman Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Northwest Guilford 41-35. While losing is never fun, Randleman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Northwest Guilford is ranked 111th).
Despite the loss, Randleman still got an impressive performance from Audra Petty, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. Petty scored a full 45.7% of Randleman's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Bella Byman, who scored 9 points.
Randleman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Northwest Guilford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Randleman will take on Oak Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Oak Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Northwest Guilford, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Western Guilford at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Western Guilford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday.
