Basketball Recap: Millard North's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Millard North can now relate to. They fell just short of the Omaha Westside Warriors by a score of 42-40 on Wednesday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 47-45.

Millard North lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Emma Vander Plaats, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avril Smith, who earned 15 boards and eight blocks.

Omaha Westside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kimora Jenkins, who had 12 points. Thanks to that strong game, Jenkins now owns an excellent 40.3% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Himayajo Metoyer, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.

Millard North moved to 22-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Omaha Westside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Millard North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Omaha Westside, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-35 win against Bellevue West on the 7th.
