Fuquay - Varina waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Holly Springs Golden Hawks. This was a revenge game for the Bengals: when they faced off against the Golden Hawks last Tuesday, they had to take a 11-2 loss.

Kylie McGrogan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Chloe Webb was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Lydia Feldner was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Fuquay - Varina's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Holly Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Fuquay - Varina will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Apex at 6:00 p.m. Fuquay - Varina's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Apex's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Holly Springs, they will challenge Willow Spring at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Willow Spring is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
