Basketball Recap: Downtown Magnets' Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Downtown Magnets had won four straight games and Patrick Lei did his part to make it five on Saturday. The Downtown Magnets Suns had just enough and edged the Fremont Pathfinders out 43-41 thanks in part to Lei, who posted 12 points along with eight boards and five steals. He has become a key player for Downtown Magnets: the team is 9-2 when he posts at least five steals, but 2-3 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Huang, who had 17 points. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Downtown Magnets is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Fremont, they moved to 4-10 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Downtown Magnets will be playing in front of their home fans against Annenberg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fremont, they will head out on the road to square off against George Washington Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
