After a string of four wins, First Baptist Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the SIUE East St. Louis Charter Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to First Baptist Academy of the 54-49 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

SIUE East St. Louis Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Breon Johnson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Kejuan Rives was another key player, going 6 for 12 en route to 18 points and eight boards.
