Football Recap: Discovery Canyon Skates Past Palmer with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Discovery Canyon). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Palmer Terrors 48-8. With the Thunder ahead 42-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Devon Baker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 147 yards and three scores while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Baker was just one part of a punishing run game: Discovery Canyon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 287 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Discovery Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Discovery Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 56-21 defeat against Pueblo South on the 7th. As for Palmer, they have also already played their next game, a 25-24 loss against Harrison on the 7th.
