Basketball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Taylor Titans

Tipton is a perfect 10-0 against Taylor since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Tipton Blue Devils will take on the Taylor Titans at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Tipton beat Shenandoah 51-41.

Grady Carpenter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The game was his sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Grayson McFalls, who posted ten points and six boards.

Tipton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Taylor beat Tri-Central 46-41 on Friday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Trojans are ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tipton's record is now 12-6. As for Taylor, their record now sits at 14-5.

Tipton beat Taylor 50-38 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Tipton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Taylor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
