Basketball Recap: Wilkes Central Comes Up Short

Wilkes Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by the West Wilkes Blackhawks 59-18. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-22 back in January.

Chloe Cox was Wilkes Central's leading scorer, having posted six points. Peyton Carlton held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Wilkes Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for West Wilkes, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Wilkes Central has already played their next game, a 60-15 loss against Forbush on the 14th. As for West Wilkes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-48 defeat against East Surry on the 12th.
