Softball Recap: Baraboo Comes Up Short

Baraboo extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 3-12. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Reedsburg Beavers. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beavers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Reedsburg, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 3-14 record. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Reedsburg's part, the result came thanks to Cheyenne Raupp's shutout, as she gave up just eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brianna Warren, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Keeva McGowan also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baraboo will square off against Beaver Dam at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Beavers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Reedsburg, they will venture away from home to challenge McFarland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
