Baseball Recap: Umatilla Takes a Loss

Umatilla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Vale, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Vale this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 on Friday.

Umatilla saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rj Estrada, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Umatilla's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Vale, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Umatilla will face off against Riverside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Vale, they will challenge Burns at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
