Baseball Recap: Rutgers Prep Has No Trouble Against Bernards

Rutgers Prep won the last time they faced Bernards and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Argonauts put the hurt on the Mountaineers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Argonauts.

Peter Wheeler looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Rutgers Prep let Cody Rullo and Alex Perez run wild. Rullo went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Perez scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Rullo has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Nepomuceno, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Rutgers Prep's record is now 2-0.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bernards: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
