Softball Recap: Davenport Takes a Loss

If Davenport was feeling good fresh off their 22-2 takedown of Navarro last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Davenport fell just short of the Fredericksburg Billies by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled against the Billies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

KINLEY Keller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in four or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JORDYN Altmeyer, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Davenport's loss dropped their record down to 12-6-1. As for Fredericksburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Davenport and Fredericksburg should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Davenport will square off against Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 621 places (127 vs. 748). Meanwhile, Fredericksburg (ranked 207th) will meet Wimberley (ranked 667th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
