Baseball Game Preview: White Knoll Timberwolves vs. Mountain View Prep Stars

The White Knoll Timberwolves will face off against the Mountain View Prep Stars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, White Knoll turned things around against Lower Richland on Wednesday. They never let the Diamond Hornets get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Timberwolves' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Braydon Hoffman looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Ayden Gallegos and Logan Gadberry did most of the damage at the plate: Gallegos went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Gadberry went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Gadberry has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Denzel Posey, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

White Knoll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Mountain View Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Silver Bluff on Saturday, taking the game 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stars.

White Knoll's victory bumped their record up to 5-20. As for Mountain View Prep, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
