Softball Recap: Trinity Lutheran Wins Going Away Against Christian Academy

Trinity Lutheran barely beat Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars blew past the Warriors 11-1 on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Grace Lance made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marissa Baker, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was DeAnna Rothert, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Trinity Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .000.

Trinity Lutheran's record is now 5-12. As for Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Coming up, Trinity Lutheran will venture away from home to take on Brown County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christian Academy, they will host New Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
