Volleyball Recap: Atlantic Shores Christian Takes a Loss

Atlantic Shores Christian lost against Gateway Christian on October 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Seahawks came up short against Gateway Christian, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-17.

Lily Vuyovich paced Atlantic Shores Christian's offense, picking up four kills. Vuyovich got some help from Bethany Ligon and her seven assists. Jasmine Gebara controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Gateway Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaleigh Nagata, who had ten digs and two aces. Nagata has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniella Obando, who had 13 digs.

Atlantic Shores Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Gateway Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-7.

Atlantic Shores Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gateway Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Greenbrier Christian Academy on the 29th.
