Baseball Recap: Lancaster Has No Trouble Against Jamestown

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lancaster). Everything went their way against the Jamestown Red & Green on Thursday as they made off with a 19-4 win. The Legends might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Ben Swenson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Michael Falls was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jackson Sepe also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lancaster and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Jamestown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lancaster will take on Frontier at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Legends surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jamestown, they will challenge Clarence at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Red & Green's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
