Baseball Recap: Pomeroy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Colton on Tuesday, Pomeroy came back down to earth. The Pirates came up short against the Colfax Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 14-4. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Pomeroy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jett Slusser, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Pomeroy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Colfax, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-6.

Pomeroy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colfax, they will head out to take on Freeman at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Scotties will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
