Basketball Recap: Timberland Victorious

While Timberland's win against Woodland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolves narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wolverines 31-28. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won five in a row.

Timberland had a senior duo take command as China Greene dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 steals and Samara Scott dropped a double-double with ten points and 15 rebounds. Greene is becoming a predictor of the Wolves' success: when she posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when she doesn't).

Timberland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emani Smalls, who posted seven points. Smalls is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Carmen Allen was another key player, putting up four points along with six boards and five steals.

Timberland's record is now 14-6. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Timberland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-32 victory against Burke on the 27th. Woodland has also already played their next matchup (against Philip Simmons), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
