Softball Recap: Good Hope Beats Fairview for Their Third Straight Victory

Good Hope had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fairview Aggies a 10-0 shutout. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Lizzy Steed was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Kylee Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Good Hope hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairview struck out nine times.

Good Hope's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fairview, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Good Hope will venture away from home to square off against Cordova at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairview, they will be taking part in a tournament against Cleveland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
