Baseball Recap: Grosse Ile Red Devils vs. Taylor Griffins
Grosse Ile had lost seven straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 5-11 to make it eight. They lost 8-1 to the Taylor Griffins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Griffins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-6 on Saturday.
Grosse Ile saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan McGowan, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Joe Keenan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Taylor, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 17-0).

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grosse Ile will challenge Airport at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils are facing the Jets at the right time seeing as the Jets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Taylor, they will square off against Lincoln Park at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Railsplitters have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.67 runs per game on average), something the Griffins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
