Preview: Sierra Stallions vs. Falcon Falcons
Sierra is 0-7 against the Falcons since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sierra Stallions will be playing at home against the Falcon Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Sierra focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Wednesday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-15, which was the final score in Sierra's tilt against the Titans. Sierra has not had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Shetara Roebuck was Sierra's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Roebuck also led the team in rebounds with eight.
In what's become a running theme this season, Falcon gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They breezed by Elizabeth at home to the tune of 54-15. Winning may never get old, but Falcon sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Falcon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Howard, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Macey Fothergill was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six steals and five assists.
Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Falcon, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Sierra have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Falcon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Sierra was dealt a bruising 52-14 loss at the hands of the Falcons when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Falcon's Cobelyn Wiesner, who scored 17 points along with six steals.
