Basketball Recap: Eldon Takes a Loss

Eldon was the 71-62 winner over St. Elizabeth when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs were dealt a 66-34 defeat at the hands of the Hornets on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Hornets are ranked 19th).

Eldon's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Corin Davis, who posted six points and five boards, and Rlee West, who put up six points and three steals.

Eldon is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-5. As for St. Elizabeth, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Eldon has already played their next game, a 58-45 defeat against Osage on the 22nd. As for St. Elizabeth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-45 victory against Branson on the 22nd.
