Basketball Game Preview: Turner Golden Bears vs. Piper Pirates

Turner hasn't had much luck against Piper recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Turner Golden Bears will welcome the Piper Pirates at 7:15 p.m.

Last Friday, Turner took a blow against Seaman, falling 69-41. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Vikings are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, Piper had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 71-60.

This is the second loss in a row for Turner and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Piper, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Turner suffered a grim 60-36 defeat to Piper when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Turner avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
