Irmo has gone a perfect 8-0 against Westwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Irmo will look to defend their home pitch against Westwood at 7:30 p.m. Irmo will be strutting in after a victory while Westwood will be coming in after a loss.

Irmo headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but White Knoll let them put that streak behind them. Irmo's defense stepped up to hand White Knoll a 4-0 shutout on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for Irmo as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to Spring Valley. While losing is never fun, Westwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Spring Valley are ranked 31st).

Irmo's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-6. As for Westwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Everything went Irmo's way against Westwood when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Irmo made off with a 5-0 win. Will Irmo repeat their success, or does Westwood has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
