Recap: Millbrook Wildcats vs. Wakefield Wolverines
The Millbrook Wildcats can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Wakefield with a sharp 93-67 win. The victory was nothing new for Millbrook as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Colt Langdon, who almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Millbrook's points. Another player making a difference was Alex Olander, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Despite the loss, Wakefield still got an impressive performance from Syncere Burnette, who scored 24 points along with two steals. That was a full 35.8% of Wakefield's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kaden Tezyk was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Millbrook's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.3 points per game. As for Wakefield, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4.
Millbrook will head out on the road to face off against Rolesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Millbrook knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Rolesville likes a good challenge. As for Wakefield, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wake Forest at 7:45 p.m. Wakefield is facing Wake Forest at the right time seeing as Wake Forest is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
