Softball Recap: Upper Scioto Valley Takes a Loss

Upper Scioto Valley couldn't beat Waynesfield-Goshen on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the first inning. The Rams fell 17-12 to the Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Chloe Cunningham led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Bentley Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Upper Scioto Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.

While Upper Scioto Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
