Basketball Recap: Mountain Grove Takes a Loss

Mountain Grove lost against Springfield Catholic back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mountain Grove Panthers took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mountain Grove dropped their record down to 13-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Springfield Catholic, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.

Mountain Grove and Springfield Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Mountain Grove (ranked 60th) will meet Ava (ranked 277th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Springfield Catholic will take on Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Monday up 239 places (110 vs. 349).
