Softball Recap: Hasbrouck Heights Aviators vs. Saddle Brook Falcons
Hasbrouck Heights had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Saddle Brook Falcons on Monday and snuck past 7-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hasbrouck Heights also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.
Maddy Connelly spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Mackenzie Riordan was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Kailen Peterson was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Hasbrouck Heights will be playing at home against North Arlington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Saddle Brook, they will head out on the road to face off against Waldwick at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
