Baseball Recap: Mauldin Takes a Loss

Mauldin fell victim to Hillcrest and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mavericks have suffered since May 6, 2025.

Daniel Zeleznik was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

Mauldin's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Hillcrest, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Hillcrest has already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Daniel on the 11th. Hopefully Mauldin paid attention to the Rams' contest: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
