The Durham Academy Cavaliers are taking a road trip to take on the Ravenscroft Ravens at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Durham Academy has given up an average of 12.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Durham Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Lynch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Lynch is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played.
Meanwhile, Ravenscroft hadn't done well against Wake Christian Academy recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. The Ravens skirted past the Bulldogs 10-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ravens.
Audriana Gaught spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and eight unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Macie Mackinnon and Cole MacKinnon did most of the damage at the plate: Mackinnon went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs, while MacKinnon went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Jesi Porfirio was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Ravenscroft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Durham Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Ravenscroft, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Ravenscroft's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Durham Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Ravenscroft, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given Durham Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Ravens will need to find a way to close that gap.
Durham Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Ravenscroft in their previous matchup on April 3rd, sneaking past 20-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
