Basketball Recap: Harnett Central Trojans vs. Overhills Jaguars
Harnett Central lost against Overhills back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Harnett Central Trojans were dealt a 72-16 defeat at the hands of the Overhills Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while the Jaguars are ranked 146th).
Overhills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Najiha Allen led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paris Autry, who went 13 for 18 en route to 30 points in addition to five assists and five steals.
Harnett Central is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16. As for Overhills, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
