IMG Academy Black has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.5 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They fell 10-5 to the Magnolia Heights Chiefs. The Ascenders' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

IMG Academy Black got a good showing from Grayson Rodgers, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Rodgers has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sebastian Wilson and Nate Lynn did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilson went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Lynn scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Juan Diaz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
