Football Recap: Sierra Vista Has No Trouble Against Legacy

Sierra Vista's offense rose to the challenge against a Longhorns defense that boasted an average of only 13.89 points allowed on Tuesday. The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions put the hurt on the Legacy Longhorns with a sharp 32-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Amaya Wusstig threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.1% of her passes. Arae'Ya Pearson was her top target, picking up 120 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Jshana Hunton rushed for 42 yards.

Sierra Vista's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Legacy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra Vista will venture away from home to take on Pinecrest Academy Cadence at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pinecrest Academy Cadence will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Sierra Vista surely won't give up without a fight. As for Legacy, they will head out on the road to square off against Cheyenne at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Legacy's defense has only allowed 13.9 points per game this season, so Cheyenne's offense will have their work cut out for them.
