Volleyball Recap: Benet Academy Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Benet Academy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Saint Viator Lions by a score of 2-0. The Redwings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Benet Academy easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Aris Maurukas and Jacob Olejnik, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Reed Hefley and his 14 assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Benet Academy pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Saint Viator, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Benet Academy will face off against Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saint Viator, they will square off against Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Corsairs at the right time seeing as the Corsairs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
