The Joaquin Rams will welcome the San Augustine Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Joaquin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully San Augustine likes a good challenge.
Joaquin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 74-21 victory over Elysian Fields. With the Rams ahead 46-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Joaquin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trenton Runnels, who rushed for 70 yards and four touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Runnels a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Amarion Wilson, who rushed for 107 yards and one score on only 11 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Joaquin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 596 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in 18 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Joaquin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jacob Gatlin and Wilson.
Meanwhile, San Augustine waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 43-33.
Joaquin better keep an eye on Max Renfro. He was instrumental in San Augustine's win, throwing for 214 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes, while also rushing for 82 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 59 yards. D'Adrian Renfro was another key player, gaining 91 total yards and two touchdowns.
Joaquin's record now sits at 9-4. As for San Augustine, their record is now 10-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Joaquin has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 243.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like San Augustine struggles in that department as they've been averaging 154.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Joaquin couldn't quite get it done against San Augustine in their previous meeting back in October as they fell 28-21. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
