Recap: Trinity Valley Trojans vs. Westlake Academy Blacksmiths
After flying high against The Awty International Rams last Saturday, the Trinity Valley Trojans came back down to earth. Trinity Valley fell to Westlake Academy 48-42. Trinity Valley has struggled against Westlake Academy recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Maya Sonday was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 22 points, ten rebounds, and 12 steals for Westlake Academy. The game was Sonday's 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Burdick, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Trinity Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Westlake Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Trinity Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chisholm Trail Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16, 2024. After both having extra time off, Westlake Academy and Temple Christian will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
