Baseball Recap: Prairie Heights Has No Trouble Against Elkhart Christian Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westview, Prairie Heights was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles 13-0. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Joel Graber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 4.2 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Caleb Freed and Braydon Duke did most of the damage at the plate: Freed got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Duke went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Freed has become a key player for Prairie Heights: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-12 otherwise. Austin Abbott also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Prairie Heights' record now sits at 4-12. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Prairie Heights beat Elkhart Christian Academy by a score of 16-4 later that day.
