Baseball Recap: Nixon-Smiley Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Nixon-Smiley's offense. They came up short against the Stockdale Brahmas on Friday, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Nixon-Smiley has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Stockdale, they moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nixon-Smiley will head out to face off against Luling at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.28 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Stockdale, they will venture away from home to challenge Three Rivers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
