Elgin lost against Addison Trail back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Wednesday. The Maroons came up short against  the Blazers, falling  8-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Elgin got a good showing from  Braedyn Tetrev, who   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Furthermore,  Tetrev didn't allow a single  walk, the first time  she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
 At the plate, Elgin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Abigail Mutolo, who  went 2-for-3 with one  RBI.
Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Addison Trail, they moved to 6-7 with that  victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
 Elgin and Addison Trail could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Maroons will  square off against  Riverside-Brookfield  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  disadvantage  (466 vs. 171). Meanwhile,  Addison Trail (ranked 270th) will meet Wheaton-Warrenville South (ranked 83rd)  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
