Baseball Recap: Hancock County Hornets vs. Ohio County Eagles
Hancock County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ohio County Eagles.
Porter Hay was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Lane Dixon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Hancock County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Ohio County, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-21.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hancock County will challenge Owensboro at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ohio County, they will square off against Webster County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
