Florida high school softball state playoff brackets

National No. 5 Doral Academy brings 26-1 record into Class 6A postseason.

National No. 5 Doral Academy (Doral, Fla.) begins the Florida Class 6A postseason Thursday against Miami Beach as the Sunshine State looks to crown eight state champions by the middle of May. 

Texas pledge Anabela Abdullah leads Doral Academy with a .618 batting average and 14 home runs as a junior. Senior Florida International commit Meagan Villazon is 21-1 in the circle with a 0.53 ERA.

No. 7 Montverde Academy (Montverde) opens Class 2A play Wednesday against The First Academy (Orlando). The Eagles are led by Georgia commit Luna Taboas, who is hitting .670, and Central Florida pledge Addison Poe with nine home runs. Future Ole Miss Rebel Nevaeh Williams leads the way in the circle with a 0.94 ERA.

On the other side of the 2A bracket is No. 15 Calvary Christian (Clearwater). The Warriors are 25-1 and play Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater) on Wednesday. North Carolina State commit Morgen Talley is 14-0 this year with a 0.73 ERA. Talley also leads the squad with seven home runs.
