Basketball Recap: Apollo Hinds Key Part of a Team Effort in Phoenix Win

Marshall won the last time they faced City Arts and Leadership Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Marshall Phoenix walked away with a 65-58 win over the City Arts and Leadership Academy Hawks.

Marshall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Apollo Hinds led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayvion Lawrence, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Marshall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Marshall's record now sits at 4-5. As for City Arts and Leadership Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lycee Francais the next time they take the court. City Arts and Leadership Academy will head out to face Lycee Francais at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Marshall will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
