Basketball Recap: Clearbrook-Gonvick's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Clearbrook-Gonvick can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against the Red Lake Warriors by a score of 59-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-56 back in December of 2025.

Red Lake's loss came despite strong showings from Kami Cook and Marya Kingbird. Cook posted 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Kingbird put up seven points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Lyreanna McClain, who scored four points along with six steals, five assists, and five boards.

Clearbrook-Gonvick picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-11. As for Red Lake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Clearbrook-Gonvick has already played their next contest (against Mahnomen/Waubun), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Red Lake, they will head out to challenge Northome/Kelliher at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
