Basketball Game Preview: Vandegrift Vipers vs. Manor Mustangs

The Vandegrift Vipers will head out to square off against the Manor Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vandegrift has four straight victories, Manor has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, everything went Vandegrift's way against Cedar Ridge as Vandegrift made off with a 51-28 win. The Vipers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Manor lost to Stony Point on the road by a 51-32 margin on Tuesday. The Mustangs were down 44-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Vandegrift's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Manor, their loss dropped their record down to 12-18.

Everything came up roses for Vandegrift against Manor in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 81-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vandegrift since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
